CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - ISOLATE YOUR HOUSEHOLD. STAY AT HOME

If you or anyone in your household has a high temperature or a new and continuous cough - even if it's mild.

Everyone in your household must stay at home for 14 days and keep away from others.

DO NOT GO TO YOUR GP OR HOSPITAL.

Go to NHS.UK to check your symptoms and follow the specialist medical advice.  Only call NHS 111 if you can't get online or your symptoms worsen.

Protect older people and those with existing health conditions by avoiding contact.

Note - Cervical Cytology - Please be aware there is a current delay in the practice receiving smear results.  Current turnaround is between 10 - 12 Weeks from the lab. Cytology are doing everything they can do to ensure results are processed as quickly as possible.  

From Friday the 1st May 2020 the practice will be offering extended access appointments

Monday-Fridays 18.30 -20.30 and Saturdays 08.00-16.00.

These appointments are being made available to patients who are registered with our practices within our primary care network.   Please call our appointment line on 373 2211 for further advice.

EPS - You Must Nominate A Pharmacy For Your Electronic Prescription Service

You will still order your prescriptions in the same way but they are sent to the pharmacy electronically. Note you do not have to have a computer at home for this.   

If you request items that are not on repeat these have to be agreed with the GP and may be refused.   Due to the increase in volume of prescription requests please allow 3 full working days between requesting and collecting your medication taking weekends and bank holidays into account. 

Note emails to the practice should not be used for clinical queries due to confidentiality and the potential for it being urgent.

The appointments are allocated as follows:

50% of appointments are bookable up to 4 weeks in advance.

25% of appointments are bookable on the day.

25% of appointments are bookable on – line.

All on the day routine appointments both morning and afternoon will released at 08.30 once all the appointments have been booked there will be a limited number of urgent appointments that can be booked if you feel that it is imperative that you are seen that day. These appointments are for urgent cases only that cannot wait for another day.

The urgent appointments will be calculated according to the number of Doctors that are available that day to ensure we can work safely.

So we can operate and offer appointments throughout the day the Duty Doctor will have appointments available in the afternoon that can be booked after 1pm these are for urgent cases that cannot wait for another day. Once all the appointments have been filled you may be directed to an alternative Heath Care Provider i.e. A+E or Walk in Centre.

On Wednesday and Thursday afternoon Badger the Out of Hours Provider cover the surgery from 1pm. On these days once the Duty Doctor appointments are filled in the afternoon you will be referred to Badger who will organise medical care for you.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to release the booking for another patient to use.
